Caring for your new Doors

To keep your doors looking their best it’s important to clean them. We recommend cleaning your doors every three months. Find out the best way to keep your new doors looking top-notch below.

Caring for uPVC and Aluminium Doors
Use a soft cloth and water with soap or washing-up liquid.
To remove grease use washing-up liquid with little to no water, then rinse with clean water.
Use a specialised uPVC cleaner for stubborn marks.
DO NOT use glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, bleach, or abrasive agents.
DO NOT use steel wool, scouring pads or razor blades.

Caring for Timber Doors
Use a soft cloth and water with soap or washing up liquid.
DO NOT use glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, bleach, or abrasive agents.
DO NOT use steel wool, scouring pads or razor blades.
We recommend inspecting the surface coating of timber doors annually and if required re-coat the wood with microporous stain or paint.

Wood is a natural product therefore features such as knots and differences in grain can occur. Some degree of movement (expansion or contraction) is to be expected.

Caring for Glass
Use a soft cloth and water with soap or washing-up liquid.
Use a commercial window cleaning solution or cream, ensuring to follow the cleaning product instructions keeping cleaning solution away from frame.
DO NOT use abrasive pastes, steel wool, scouring pads or razor blades for stubborn marks.

Furniture maintenance
Use a soft cloth with soap or washing-up liquid.
Stainless Steel hardware requires a specific stainless steel cleaning product.
Use a silicon spray to lubricate moving parts such as hinges, locks and restrictors.
DO NOT use oil, grease or WD40.
